We still haven’t figured out the formula to slow down time around here so we just constantly play catch up!  We had an amazing trip to PA over president’s day weekend.  We got to visit with Pop pop and Ruru, Aunt Kim and Uncle B-Rye and half of the Landis cousins.  We celebrated Peter’s birthday again, but this time he received the much anticipated dump truck (thank you Landis family! we can not wait for this to become an outside toy!)

The boys completed all their normal tasks: playing marble shoot, ping pong and pool balls, feeding chickens, and playing with the cat.  They even added a few new activites to the roster: crossing the new bridge and throwing rocks in the creek and grinding corn to feed to the chickens.  We even managed to throw in a scavenger hunt and eat some cupcakes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We enjoyed a great morning visit with Ashley, Adam and Meredith.  We went to a park where Uncle Brad got not one, but two balls stuck in a tree!

 

                Ashley was kind enough to protect Joey from the flying balls.

 

 

Brad and Mark worked as a team.  Brad threw balls to loosen the stuck balls and Mark shook the tree branch.

 

 

 

 

 

When arrived home on Tuesday night and Peter celebrated his birthday at school on Wednesday (are noticing a pattern here?)

 

We made a poster with pictures of him each year and shared it with the class. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Although Peter thought his dump truck was the best thing on earth, Mark’s present of ‘Jenga’ has been a crowd favorite.  Peter does surprising well at this game and gets very mad when his brother crashes his tower.  (We’re learning how to take turns.)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And, of course, when the cat is away at school, the mice will play.  No, I did not help Joey build this, and yes I know that is sad!  I’m sorry we have doomed our children to engineering minds.

 

 

And to finish things off, we had a great scavenger hunt last Thursday with friends! (And yes made cupcakes for Peter’s birthday – it’s a wonder the kid didn’t turn 10 by this point!)  Small objects had to be found in a box full of shredded newspaper.  It got a bit snowy by the end, but the giggles and determination were totally worth it!

This weekend we were up in Michigan and celebrated Peter’s 4th burthday!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

        

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

    Joey thought he was being so sneaky.  He climbed out of bed and hopped on grandpa’s lap and was listening to the Ferris hockey game.  He was caught.

Not too much has been happening around here, hence the absence of postings.

 

 

  We roasted a few marshmallows in the fireplace.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  Watched the ConAgra building get demolished.  If you search ‘ConAgra Huron’ on you tube you can watch it too!

 

 

 

 

Enjoyed a snow day with the neighbors

Watched LOTS of ‘hockey highlights’ with Dad.

 

 

 

  Wore my brothers big boy underpants one day for fun.  (No I am NOT potty trained!!!)  My favorite trick right now is whenever I come home I like to run to the guest bedroom and take off my pants.  Who needs pants anyway?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And last but not least, splased in some puddles with our boots when the snow melted.

Nature Channel

 

We had a really cool experience here in our little neighborhood today.  We were paid a visit by a very cool bird.  This bald eagle has been hanging around for the past few days.  He lands in the tall tree in fron tof our neighbors house by the beach.  Sue and I were pushing the kids on the swing this beautiful afternoon and soon Sue spotted it flying over the lake.  He didn’t catch anything, but he did land in the tree and I ran back to the house to get my camera.  So glad I did, because these are some cool shots.  Happy bird watching!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Happy New Year

 

Chrsitmas just kept coming for the boys.  When we got home from Michigan, Mark and I celebrated our christmas with the boys.  More presents…..

Peter had been cooped up a few days and couldn’t help but run from one end of the house to the other.  So, on Brian’s suggestion, Mark came up with this bike treadmill.  Peter loved it!

Joey was so exhausted on Saturday, but he just didn’t have it in him to put down the balls. 

 

 

 

 

 

  I got to use my new pancake pen to make fun pancake shapes on Saturday morning.

 

 

 

 

 

Peter and Joey enjoyed fonduing with us. Mostly the bread and the marshmallows.
